  • Purpose of the Competition

The "Humanities and Technology Interdisciplinary Innovation and Practice Contest" is a program that combines humanistic care and social problem solving with the University's existing interdisciplinary courses to consider how to apply qualitative research, data analysis, and technological innovation to shape solutions to social problems and demonstrate the results.

  • Theme of the Competition

In 2015, the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, proposing 17 core goals for the world’s transition toward sustainability and aspiring to achieve a lasting, inclusive, and sustainable global community. Under the theme of “A Better Tomorrow,” this competition calls upon participants to integrate humanistic thinking and scientific principles to explore issues of social, educational, economic, and environmental sustainability, and to propose concrete, actionable ideas. You may refer to the following topics:

  1. Care for vulnerable groups and promote social fairness and justice.
  2. Ensure equal learning opportunities so that everyone can benefit from quality education.
  3. Engage in circular economic activities to create more value with fewer resources.
  4. Protect natural ecosystems, move toward net-zero carbon emissions, and adopt energy-saving and plastic-reducing lifestyles.
  5. Foster multicultural integration and advance international cooperation and shared prosperity.
  • Participants Eligibility

Students enrolled in our school, with a team of at least 3 members, each team should have a mentor.

  • Cross-disciplinary teams are preferred.
  • Work submission method

the online registration method is used to complete the registration. Please submit your project proposal and video when filling out the online application form. The application period is from now until April 25, 2025 (Fri).

  • Competition schedule
  1. Workshop on the creation of meaning of optimized works: May 16, 2025.
  2. Announcement of finalists: May 26, 2025.
  3. Final competition: June 18, 2025, held at  Feng Chia University. Prizes will be presented on-site after the competition.
  • Grading criteria
    • Preliminary Judgement:
  1. Thesis statement 40%: the developed work can improve or solve social problems.
  2. Creativity of the proposal 60%: innovation, feasibility and futuristic nature of the work.
  • Final Judgement:
  1. Thesis statement 40%: the developed work improves or solves a social problem.
  2. Creativity of the proposal 50%: innovation, feasibility and future of the work.
  3. Presentation 10%: Poster presentation of the work and live presentation by the team.
